Rhonda's story is one of many.
Rhonda Vesey is the organizer behind Food Access Healthy Neighborhoods Now! (FAHNN), whose decade of work is bringing a grocery store back to the Valley neighborhood. Her story is one of dozens like it across our network.

Since 2019, the Syracuse-Onondaga Food Systems Alliance has been weaving together farmers, food workers, organizers, advocates, and neighbors across our region to build a food system that actually works for the people it serves.
​
We helped FAHNN secure their first grant. We invested in Rhonda's leadership through our Food Justice Fund. We testified alongside her at City Hall. We brought her into our network as a Community Connector, where her experience now shapes our work and ours shapes hers.
That's how SOFSA works. We don't run programs for communities. We resource, connect, and amplify the leadership that's already there.
